Joint Injections: The future of long-term PAIN CONTROL

Old dog walking in an open field

We've added a life-changing new service for our canine companions.

Have you noticed your best friend experiencing difficulty getting up or down? A difference in walking or running? Moving more slowly, tenderly?

"Yeah, but he seems fine otherwise!"  Pain is not always obvious; dogs are remarkably stoic and often hide discomfort.

Joint injections offer significant benefits for arthritis, providing targeted pain relief, reducing inflammation, improving lubrication and potentially protecting cartilage, leading to better mobility and quality of life--especially when oral medications aren't enough. They offer targeted, long-lasting relief and can be an alternative to daily pills, helping dogs return to activity by addressing the source of discomfort directly within the joint.

A syringe of platelets and blood to utilize in cellular repair by arthrex

Plasma-Rich Platelet Injection

PRP for dogs is a regenerative therapy using the dog's own blood to accelerate healing by concentrating platelets (rich in growth factors) and injecting them into injured areas, helping with conditions like arthritis, ligament/tendon injuries, and chronic wounds by reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.

How It Works

  1. Blood Draw: A small amount of your dog's blood is drawn.
  2. Centrifuge: The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets and plasma, creating a "platelet-rich" solution.
  3. Injection: The concentrated PRP is then injected directly into the damaged joint, tendon, or wound.
  4. Healing: The growth factors released from the platelets stimulate natural healing, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration.

What It Treats

  • Osteoarthritis (Arthritis): The most common use, improving mobility and comfort.
  • Tendon & Ligament Injuries: Helps repair damaged connective tissues.
  • Wound Healing: Promotes repair in chronic or slow-healing wounds.
  • Hip Dysplasia & Other Joint Issues .
  • Post-Surgical Healing

Arthramid Injection

  • Athramid is an innovative, long-lasting hydrogel used for the treatment of canine osteoarthritis and non-infectious joint disease.
  • Integration: Once injected into the joint, the 2.5% iPAAG hydrogel adheres to the synovial lining (the tissue that produces joint fluid).
  • Bio-scaffold formation: Over two to four weeks, cells and new blood vessels migrate into the gel matrix, integrating it into the joint lining and the surrounding capsule tissue. This creates a thick, cushion-like membrane or "bio-scaffold" that reinforces the joint structure.
  • Restored function: The new, healthier synovial lining improves the quality and viscosity of the natural joint fluid, enhancing the joint's lubrication and shock absorption.
  • Pain reduction: By stabilizing the joint capsule and increasing its elasticity, Arthramid reduces mechanical stress and the pain associated with synovitis (joint inflammation), helping to break the vicious cycle of osteoarthritis.
